Nguyễn Đặng Duy Phúc – CFAB 3A Writing Assignment Choose one of these topics & write a 280 – 300 words compare and contrast essay Topic: High school vs college or university It is true that education plays an essential role in an individual’s life whether where he or she lives The education levels can be divided differently like high school and university High school level is compulsory for children and many of them may want to acquire further knowledge by enrolling in tertiary education Although some people think that these levels are almost the same, high school and university are totally different First of all, one obvious difference between high school and college is workload and the way students amass knowledge In college, assignments are more challenging and take a lot of time to fulfill because the academic level is quite challenging They must seek information by themselves or find ways to actively ask their tutors In contrast, high school students are taught everything they need to complete homework, and all they have to is apply in assignments Secondly, the cost of high school is different from the cost of university College life is much more expensive in comparison with high school life due to tuition, living expenses, and learning materials For example, any student who attends college must pay the high fees, while students in high school, especially in public school, have their tuition subsidized by the government, so their fees are often quite low Finally, university life and high school life seem like two different worlds The university is a period when students might feel that they are learning and experiencing in various situations, and in high schools, the schools not offer this freedom to individuals College provides students with lots of social activities and clubs, thereby encouraging them to develop soft skills, which does not happen in high school As university offer more opportunities, high school does not allow students to prepare for real life circumstance like university In conclusion, college is more expensively, more academically demanding, and more freely than the high school environment
