Mục tiêu của luận án là góp phần bổ sung thêm, đầy đủ hơn về đặc điểm sinh học, đặc điểm sinh thái, nhân giống và thành phần hóa học tinh dầu của loài Pơ mu và Sa mu dầu ở Khu DTSQ miền Tây Nghệ An, làm cơ sở khoa học đề xuất các giải pháp để bảo tồn và phát triển hai loài này tại khu vực nghiên cứu.
