VIET NAM STANDARD TCVN 7572 – 18 : 2006 Aggregates for concrete and mortar – Test methods Part 18: Determination of crushed particle content Scope of Applying This standard stipulates the method of determination of crushed particle content in gravel dam Reference Document TCVN 7572-1: 2006 Aggregates for concrete and mortar – Test Methods – Part 1: Sampling Equipment - Counter balance: precisely to 0,1% - Magnifier Sample Preparation Gravel dam sample is taken according to TCVN 7572-1: 2006 and the weight of trial sample is prepared as shown in Table No.1 Sample is in naturally-dried status and seived respectively with Dmin and Dmax seives And trial sample is taken from material laying on the Dmin seive Table No.1 – The weight of gravel dam The maximum particle size of gravel dam (mm) 10 20 40 The weight of sample (kg) 0,25 1,00 5,00 70 15,00 Test Implementation Observating by eyes or using magnifier to choose the particles which have crushed surface being larger than a half of area of that particle surface These particles is considered as crushed particle Then put the selected particle on counter balance to get the weight Result Calculation Crushed particle content (Dv) is calculated by % of weight, precisely to 1%, as the following fomular: Dv= m1/m x 100 In which: M: the weight of trial sample, count by gam (g); M1: the weight of crushed particle, count by gam (g); The result is taken precisely to 1% Test Report
