Present perfect For and since Uses of the present perfect • We know we can use the present perfect to talk about experiences • We can also use it to talk about an action which started in the past and continues up to the present • I have lived in Southend for 20 years FOR and SINCE • We use for and since with the present perfect to say how long the action has lasted • I have lived here since 2001 • I have lived here for 11 years • So what is the difference?
