LESSON PLAN  Teacher: Do Van Hung Group: 12A2 Room: 2 Unit 6: FUTURE JOBS (A. Reading) Time: Date: Objective/ Teaching points: - Read for specific information - Know some factors that would help to succeed in a job interview Specific objectives/ Activities Materials/ Aids Procedure/ Interactions Time 1 To warm up students - To lead to the topic of the reading pictures * Kim’s game: - shows pictures - students speak out the names of the jobs on pictures (teacher, receptionist, cook, secretary, actress, mechanic, singer, farmer) * Asks: “Which job do people often have an interview to apply for?” 5’ 2. To teach vocabulary blackboard * Elicits vocabulary - pressure (unc): áp lực  synonym - a letter of application (unc): đơn xin 10’ việc  realia - a letter of recommendation: thư giới thiệu  translation - enthusiasm (unc): nhiệt tình  synonym - sense of responsibility (unc): tinh thần trách nhiệm  translation - neatly (adv): gọn gàng  antonym * Checks: Rub out and Remember 3. To help students predict what the text will say poster * Runs through the meaning of statements in Task 2 * Students do Task 2 (work in group of 4) 10’ 4. - To check students’ prediction - To help students guess the meaning of the words from the context * Students read the passage (page 63) and check their prediction on Task2. - Answer key: 1.F, 2.T, 3.F, 4.T, 5.T, 6.F, 7.F, 8.T * Runs through the meaning of options in Task 1 (page 64) * Students do Task 1 (work individually) - Answer key: 1.B, 2.C, 3.A, 4.B 15’ 5. - To help students master the reading poster * Asks: “Speak out some pieces of advice that can help to reduce the feeing of pressure and create a good impression on interview from the text.” 5’ - To develop students’ speaking skill * Asks: “From following factors, which is the most important one that leads to succeed in a job interview? Why?” - wearing formal clothes - giving clear, honest answers - being self- confident - having a good sense of humor - showing your sense of responsibility * Students work individually, then share ideas with partners.
