LESSON PLAN  • Teacher: Do Van Hung • Group :12A3 • Room : 3 • Unit 5 : HIGHER EDUCATION • Lesson : Speaking • Time :9h40’- 10h25’ • Date :11 November 2010  Objectives/ teaching points: through out practicing speaking help Ss get knowledge from partner’s information and develop speaking, listening and writing skill. Specific objectives/ activities Materials/aids Procedures/interactions Time 1. To warm up Ss and establish topic. 2. To provide Ss meaning of new vocabulary. - Blackboard with key word( Application form) - Two groups (each group guessing one letter and one person one time). - Ask question: Do you know application form? What it mean? What do you need application to do? When and where? What will you fill information on application form? - Pre- teach vocabulary + Application form (n) : đơn đăng kí dự thi + Reference letter (n): thư giới thiệu + School certificate (n) : bằng chứng nhận tốt nghiệp + Record of performance (n) : học bạ + Identity card (n) : chứng minh nhân dân + Birth certificate (n): giấy khai 5’ 10’ 1 3. To brainstorm and give information on topic “application process to tertiary study in Viet Nam” to do task 1 in the textbook ( page 55) 4. To Ss discuss and make small conversation by asking and answering ‘what’ and ‘where’ from task 2(page 55). 5. To summarize the application procedures to do task 3(page 56), to Ss present their paragraph Four posters for four groups and T’s poster from task 1 of page 55 - Poster of task 2 page 55 - Poster of suggesting questions sinh. - check: rub out and remember - Task 1 on page 55: + Ss show poster of four groups on the board. + T puts her or his poster on the board and check by ticking () those which are obligatory for students to be admitted to a university in Vietnam which belong to task 1 of page 55. + T runs through and explains how to use these documents. - Task 2 on page 55: + One poster of task 2 page 55. + Asks Ss some question about information in task 2 page 55. + Gives poster of suggesting questions. + Ss work in pairs (A: new student who begin the school term, B: the last student year) and rely on suggesting questions to make small conservation. + Calls on some pairs to present. - Task 3 on page 5: + Reminds Ss information in task 1 and task 2 + Asks Ss work in groups (six groups) to discuss and write a paragraph about “what do need you some documents to apply for a university in Vietnam? And when? ”. 20’ 10’ Homework: Write about the process of applying to a tertiary institution in Vietnam not more than 100 words. 2 3 .
