Prologue

This report details the field trip that was organized for the logistics course to Cat Lai Port The objective of the trio was to provide students with practical knowledge and a better

understanding of the components of a logistics chain

The tour started with a visit to the Pier, where we observed the loading and unloading of containers from ships We were fascinated by the efficiency of the cranes and the precision with which the containers were moved We learned that the pier is the gateway for goods to enter the port and is one of the busiest areas in Cat Lai Port The second destination was the Barge Wharf, where we saw barges being loaded and unloaded We learned that the Barge Wharf is an essential part of the transportation process, especially for goods that are transported along the Mekong Delta River We saw how the barges were loaded and unloaded using cranes and how the goods were

transported to the CFS Warehouse

The third destination was the Inspection House, where we learned about the crucial role

that the goods inspection area plays in ensuring that goods are transported safely and efficiently We observed the inspectors using advanced technology to conduct thorough inspections of the quality and safety of goods, as well as verifying related documents such as invoices and papers We also learned about the categorization of goods into the green, yellow, and red channels, and the procedures that are followed for each category

The fourth destination was the CFS Warehouse, where we observed the process of receiving and loading goods into the warehouse We learned about the strict safety protocols that are followed during the process to ensure that goods are handled safely and efficiently We also saw how the goods were stored in the warehouse, and the procedures that are followed for their dispatch to their next destination

The final destination was the Gate B, the center for coordination and control of access

to Cat Lai Port We learned about the importance of proper access control to the port, and the measures that are in place to ensure the safety and security of the port and its operations

In the end, the field trip was an informative and enlightening experience It provided us with practical knowledge and a better understanding of the components of a logistics chain, and how each component plays an essential role in ensuring that goods are transported safely and efficiently We would like to extend our thanks to Cat Lai Port for providing us with this opportunity to enhance our knowledge and understanding of logistics
