Practice is an activity in which students go to specific businesses or clients to have a more accurate view of the major that students are studying In addition, it also helps students better orientate themselves about their future and career to outline, the self development roadmap to meet the conditions to get a title that is suitable for them
With 60 years of operation, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for
Foreign Trade of Vietnam (currently Known as Vietcombank) has
achieved a strong position and certain successes in the Vietnamese economy
Introduced by the University of Economics and Law, | was able to participate and learn from a 3-day internship at Vietcombank Tan Chau Transaction Office - Chau Doc Branch Under the enthusiastic and dedicated guidance from my colleagues at the agency as well as from
my lecturer Dr Nguyen Hai Yen, | have had useful practical experience and professional knowledge about lending and transactions in a particular bank with customers in reality
One of the reasons that highly motivated me to join in Tan Chau Transaction Office - Vietcombank Chau Doc Branch is it has been a long time since | knew this bank in my secondary school years, | had the opportunity to do some simple transactions at this office meeting talented staffs here, therefore, | was extremely curious about the major Finance and Banking , | had the time to both review my memories as well as fulfill my childhood dream of entering this place not as a customer
Because the training period is only 3 days, the limitation of in-depth information and practical activities is almost inevitable It is clear to say that | extremely appreciate receiving your valuable comments and

1 General information about the client:
1.1 Information of Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam:
1.1.1 Development history of Vietcombank:
Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam, formerly known as the Foreign Exchange Department under the State Bank of Vietnam, was Officially put into operation on April 1st, 1963
As of June 2, 2008, Vietcombank officially operated under the model of
a joint-stock commercial bank With a_ history of 60 years, Vietcombank has more than 600 branches and transaction offices with 22,599 employees Besides, Vietcombank also developed an Autobank system with more than 2,500 ATMs

1.2 Development history of Vietcombank Chau Doc Branch and Tan Chau Transaction Office:
Starting from 1994 until now, An Giang, one of 10 provinces where Vietcombank expanded its branch networks the fastest at that time, has had 2 branches and 8 transaction offices located in 5 districts in the area with 16 ATMs spread across large and small transaction points
Consequently, the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam Chau Doc Branch was established in 2006, and three Transaction Offices affiliated to the branch, Tinh Bien, Tan Chau, and Chau Phu, were respectively established
In particular, Tan Chau Transaction Office was established on May 15th, 2009 with a scale of 1000 customers, mostly in the credit and
Trang 12transaction segments inside and outside Tan Chau Town Tan Chau Transaction Office devotes special attention to customers who are residents and business households not only in Tan Chau Town but also
in neighbourhood areas such as Hong Ngu District, Phu Tan District, and An Phu District
With 14 years of operation, Tan Chau Transaction Office has won several awards as follows:
In 2012, they were awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Bank's General Director for excellently completing the task

2.2 Overview of the organizational structure of Vietcombank Chau Doc Branch and Vietcombank Tan Chau Transaction Office:

In counter 2, a teller is in charge of directly managing accounts and dealing with customers under VND 50 million (small wire) Directly pay remittances to customers (without bank accounts), notify and print documents for customers; receive customer files for international money transfer (outbound) from customers or from_ relevant departments at the Branch to transfer to the Head Office (for branches
that are not assigned international remittance limits)
In counter 3, a teller is in charge of directly managing accounts and dealing with customers over VND 50 million (big wire) Disburse loans
to customers based on approved disbursement documents; Collect debt and collect interest at the request of the Sales Department
In counter 4, a treasurer is in charge of cash inventory of transactions over 50 million and valuable papers

of customers, whose majority are in agriculture, animal husbandry, and permaculture farming Hence, the market segmentation of this office is toward customers, who are more than 18 years old, and have
a demand to lend money to develop their business activities
According to Tan Chau residents’ career, Tan Chau Transaction Office has 2 main areas to focus on Chief of these is that opening saving accounts, and credit cards for residents who are wealthy and are fully effort to develop their businesses
The rest of the key products are types of loans that can be served to residents who have a poor crop and have the desire to build up their

business one more time within that year For example, the crop failure led to the shortage of Mr Tuan’s daughter's tuition fee, he could go to Vietcombank Tan Chau Transaction Office to lend money for his daughter's fee and started a business process with Credit Department Having been established for 14 years, Tan Chau Transaction Office has several permanent customers in both saving and loan criteria
