2018 data shows that there are 6,072 cafés in Hanoi, with 296 are in Nam Tu Liem and 920 are in Cau

Giay area However, most are designed as social gathering places, with noises from background music and other customers There are only a few cafés suitable for working and studying in the city, namely Tranquil

Book and Coffee, De.Tam, or Xofa Café and Bistro, yet most of them are located in the Central Business

District (CBD) and the Midtown area like Ba Dinh, Dong Da, Hai Ba Trung or Hoan Kiem Due to the location, the space of these café is usually small, causing the seating and parking arrangement to be quite uncomfortable In addition, these so-called “working café” can be noisy sometimes, especially in the evening or at weekends, due to the facts that customers may go there for other purposes, such as taking some nice vintage-style pictures, instead of quietly working or studying

Co-working spaces, like Toong, MindX, or Y Nest, can solve the problems relating to space and noise, but they usually require reservations, most only open on weekdays (Monday to Saturday), and the expense

is quite high, about 50,000 per hour, minimum Public libraries (including Hanoi Library, the National Library of Vietnam, TOTO information center, and libraries of foreign embassies like Goethe Institut) can

be the economical alternatives with low prices, even free of charge, but they are low in quantity and size, and have short daily opening hours
