and explain why you like him/her

Today, I would like to share about my best friend… whom I have gone through ups and downs for about 10 years since high school

How did I met her? We first met in high school when we joined the school’s performance ensemble Our friendship blossomed as

we spent time rehearing together and discovered our shared

interests and values

First, she’s very kind and generous She’s willing to give others a hand, and she always stands by me whenever I need help Last year, I had a high fever and had to be hospitalised for a week Shetook a week off to take care of me.Although she’s super busy with her hectic schedule, she manages to spend time engaging in voluntary activities such as local environmental campains or othercommunity service projects

Moreover, my friend is truly inspiring She motivates us to strive for excellence, never give up, and shares stories of famous

individuals who overcame failures to achieve success Her

leadership qualities and selfless nature make her a role model for

me and others around her

I admire my friend not only for her kindness and generosity but also for her positive influence on those around her Her friendshiphas brought immense joy and enrichment to my life, and I feel fortunate to have such an exceptional and inspiring friend by my side

- how often you do it

do)

and explain how it helps to keep you fit

One of the activities I engage in to maintain my health is

practicing yoga I make it a point to practice yoga at least four

times a week Initially, it was quite challenging for me as I was not very flexible and found it hard to hold some of the poses However, with consistent practice and dedication, I have seen significant improvements in my flexibility and strength

Yoga has been instrumental in keeping me fit both physically and mentally The practice not only helps me to improve my balance, flexibility, and strength but also allows me to relax and destress The focus on breathing and mindfulness during yoga sessions helps me to clear my mind and improve my overall mental well-being Additionally, yoga has helped me to alleviate any muscle tension or stiffness that I may experience from sitting at a desk for long hours

In the future, I plan to continue practicing yoga as part of my fitness routine as it has become an essential aspect of maintaining

Sitting there by the fire on a breezy night with the delicious smell

of freshly barbecued fish would be an amazing experience

My favorite season is spring It typically begins at the end of

December in Vietnam and lasts until the middle of March Duringthis season, the weather is absolutely delightful It is not too hot like in the summer or too cold like in the winter The temperature

is pleasant during both the day and night, making it very

comfortable for outdoor activities

One of the things I love most about spring is the beauty of nature that comes alive during this time Everywhere you look, you can see lush greenery and vibrant flowers blooming Fruit trees like cherry and apricot trees are in full blossom, and colorful flowers such as daffodils and marigolds decorate parks and gardens The sights and smells of spring are truly rejuvenating and uplifting

In terms of activities, during spring, I enjoy spending time

outdoors, going for walks in the park, having picnics with friends and family, and admiring the blooming flowers I also look

forward to celebrating Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year,

which is a time for family reunions, festive gatherings, and

enjoying traditional dishes

Spring is my favorite season because it represents new beginningsand fresh starts It is a time of renewal and growth, both in nature and in our lives The pleasant weather, the beauty of blooming flowers, and the festive atmosphere of Tet all contribute to

making spring a truly special and joyful time of the year for me

people choose to take public means of transportations to work toreduce smoke into the air

- Does the responsibility for protecting the environment liewith governments or with individuals?

 In my opinion, both government and individuals have to join

hands to protect the environment Government should give thelaws and policies about environment and natural resources, especially for factories which may produce a lot of dangerous

plant more trees, put litters in the trash bins, and use publictransportation

Describe a language other than English that

you would like to learn

You should say:

- what the language is

- where it is spoken

- what you think would be difficult and what

would be easy about learning the language

and explain why you would like to learn it

Trang 9

I would like to learn French as a third language in my life after English French is spoken in many parts of the world, not only in France but also in countries like Canada, Belgium, Switzerland, and many African countries It is estimated that French is spoken

by over 220 million people worldwide

I believe that learning French would be both challenging and

rewarding One of the difficulties I anticipate is mastering the pronunciation and accent, as French is known for its nasal sounds and subtle intonations However, I think that the grammar

structure of French, which is quite similar to English in some aspects, could make learning the language easier Additionally, there are many resources available online for learning French, which could facilitate the learning process

I am interested in learning French because it is considered a

language of love, culture, and diplomacy French is widely used

in international organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union, and the International Red Cross By learning French, I believe I would not only expand my career

opportunities but also have the chance to immerse myself in the rich French culture and literature Furthermore, being able to

communicate in French would allow me to connect with speaking people around the world and gain a deeper

French-understanding of their perspectives and way of life

Part III:

Language learning

- Is it considered important in your country to learn foreign languages?

 In my opinion, people in Vietnam have paid attention to learn

foreign languages for a long time Many companies offer highersalary for the employees whose foreign languages are good They

have more opportunities to have better jobs They can also meet a

Trang 10

lot of people from all over the world and have more knowledgeabout different cultures

- What, in your opinion, is the best way to learn a language?

 First, I think people have to study hard We should pay

attention to the lessons you learn and do a lot of exercises You

can also learn from the internet and other sources Second, it’s really useful if we can practice speaking with native people It’s because it can help you improve your communication skills and

broaden your lexical and structural resources

- Why are some people seemingly better at learning languagesthan others?

 I think some people can learn languages better than other

because it’s their innate potential Some children can easilyremember a rich source of vocabulary while some others find

difficult to do that In addition, many children seem to be more

confident to speak in public than others

You should say:

- what the piece of equipment is

- when and where you got it

- what you use it forand explain why you find it useful

The technology I'd like to talk about is my laptop computer I

purchased it around two years ago when I started a digital editing

course for video and photography It's a high-spec laptop with the

latest operating system, designed to handle demanding tasks like videoediting smoothly and efficiently

Trang 11

I use my laptop extensively, almost every day Whether it's for

completing assignments for my course, editing videos and photos, browsing the internet, or even just entertainment like watching movies

or playing games, my laptop is always at the center of my digital

activities

Without my laptop, my daily life would be significantly different

Firstly, I would lose the convenience of being able to work on my course assignments from the comfort of my home I might have to spend more time at college using their computers, which could disrupt

my schedule and limit my flexibility

Additionally, my laptop serves as a gateway to the digital world for

me Without it, I would miss out on the vast amount of information and entertainment available online While I might read more books without the distraction of the internet, I would also lose access to

valuable resources, educational content, and communication platforms that enrich my life in various ways

Overall, my laptop has become an indispensable tool that not only enhances my productivity but also provides endless opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection with the world

Part III:

Technological developments

- What have been the most significant technological

developments of recent years?

 I think the most important technological development in

recent years is the internet It supports our life in all aspects such

as education, working, and entertainment Students can studyonline from many websites We can also find plenty ofinformation about jobs and goods We can also watch all kindsfilms, listen to all kinds of music, play all kinds of games at anytime and any place

- In what ways have these developments changed society for the better and for the worse?
