Week: …… Period: …… UNIT 6: OUR TET HOLIDAY LESSON 6: SKILLS P : …………… T : …………… I.Objectives: By the end of this lesson: Knowledge: Ss develop their listening skill for specific information and complete an email talking about what people should/ shouldn’t at Tet Competence: SS will be able to: - Listen and tick the things they hear for Tet - Listen and answer the questions - Write an email about what children should/ shouldn’t at Tet Character qualities: Ss will be aware of learning more about tradition of Vietnamese people at Tet II Teaching aids: textbook, pictures, subboards, CD player III Procedure: Warm up: * Aim: to introduce the topic of listening + Chatting - T asks Ss some questions: a) What should children at Tet? b) What shouldn’t children at Tet? c) What people usually before Tet ? d) Do you get lucky money at Tet? - Ss answer the questions Pre stage: * Aim: to revise some vocabularies related to Tet holiday and guess what they hear + Matching: - T asks Ss to match the list of words with Vietnamese - Ss look at the list and read them aloud + Prediction: - Ss guess what things they will hear T collects the answers: a) …… b) ……… c)…… d)…… During stage: * Aim: to help Ss practise listening about preparations for Tet holiday and writing an email + Listening: - Ss listen and check their predictions - Ss listen again and tick the things they hear ( exercise 1/P 65) * Key: old things peach flowers new clothes wishes - Have Ss read the questions first to determine what information is needed to answer the questions Remind them that only the key words are used for the answers - Ss listen again and answer the questions in one or two words.( exercise 2/P 65) - Check their answers as a class - Help correct Ss’ answers Write the answers on the board * Key: old things Their houses red His father anything + Writing: - Have Ss work individually to complete the email (exercise 4/ P 65) - Go round and offer help if needed - Ask one or two Ss to share their writing with the class Check their writing - Collect some of the Ss’ emails to correct at home Post stage: * Aim: to provide an opportunity for Ss to further practice speaking skill + Role plays: - Ss work in pairs, ask and answer the questions: S1: What should you at Tet?
