Welcome to Marquette University’s Admitted Student Day! We are thrilled that you are with us today on campus! We hope that your visit will give you a good sense of who we are at Marquette and the opportunities that will be available to you Our students are what truly make Marquette great, and you’re going to get to meet a lot of them today We will make sure that all of your questions are answered, but it’s also important to relax, smile, laugh, and have some fun Look up from the program, look around, and start to see yourself at Marquette v Sunday, April 10:00 am - 11:00 am CAMPUS TOURS AMU 2nd floor Offered continuously during this hour 11:00 am - 12:00 pm REGISTRATION & LUNCH Alumni Memorial Union (AMU) 2nd floor (ground level entering from the west, up floor entering from the east) Come at any time to check-in and enjoy lunch in Marquette Place 12:00 - 12:30 pm WELCOME ADDRESS AMU Ballrooms, 3rd floor Brian Troyer - Dean of Admissions Kate Bracciano - Assistant Director of Visit Programs 12:30 - 1:30 pm 1:30 - 3:30 pm ACADEMIC SESSIONS Learn more about the academic college that you will be joining at Marquette Current students will lead you to your academic session Organizations will be finalized as we get closer to the event Here are the 2017 attendees: ASD ORGANIZATION FEST AMU 1st floor lobby During your first week at Marquette, representatives from almost all of our 300 student organizations will be available at O-fest We’re giving you a preview of that at Admitted Student Day Advertising Club African Student Association Air Force ROTC Alpha Chi Omega Alpha Phi Omega American Medical Students Association American Society of Mechanical Engineers Army ROTC Student Organization Ballroom Dancing Club Biomedical Engineering Society CHAARG Chess Club Club Curling College Democrats 2:00 - 3:30 pm Engineers Without Borders First Generation Student Empowerment Club Go-Getters Business Club Gold ‘n Blues Habitat for Humanity Hispanic Professionals of Greater Milwaukee Jewish Student Union LASO (Latin American Student Organization) Lutheran Campus Ministry Marquette Bands Marquette Empowerment (Gender Equality) Marquette For Life Marquette Radio MUSG (Student Government) NASA (Native American Student Association) Navy ROTC New Student & Family Programs Office of International Education Pacific Islanders Student Association Panhellenic Association Pre-Law Society Residence Life Sigma Chi Sigma Lambda Beta Studio 013 Refugees (Improv) Triathlon Club SPECIAL INFORMATION SESSIONS Each of these sessions will be offered twice and you are able to select which sessions you’d like to attend Session 1: 2:00-2:45, Session 2: 2:45-3:30 • No More Study Halls: The Academic Transition from High School to Marquette University Weasler Auditorium • Real World Applications: How Marquette Prepares You for Employment After Graduation AMU 163 • Milwaukee: The City is Your Classroom AMU 227 Sunday, April - Evening Activities 3:45 pm STUDENT & PARENT EVENTS KICKOFF Parents head to Weasler Auditorium Students will meet in West Towne Mall (just outside of Weasler) 3:45 - 5:45 pm EVENING EVENTS Parents Your Financial Plan for Marquette - Weasler Auditorium 3:45 - 4:30 pm Happy Hour and Dinner 4:30 - 5:45 pm Students Campus scavenger hunt followed by dinner in a Marquette dining hall 6:00 - 6:30 NEXT STEPS & EVENING SEND-OFF Varsity Theatre Current Student Speakers Your Next Steps MAKE YOUR MARQ ROOM ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 12:00 - 6:00 pm (AMU 2nd floor lobby) Mass will be held at the Church of the Gesu at 7:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m and 11:30 a.m on Sunday if you wish to attend prior to the event Join us at any point throughout the day to officially join the Marquette Class of 2021 by submitting your deposit! There will be admission counselors available all day in this room to answer any questions Stop by and take a photo at our photo station! Wi-Fi information will be available the day of the event Monday, April - Optional Activities 8:00 am - 4:00 pm CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE! We know that there may be more that you want to see and explore during a school day Check out some of the many options below! Visit the Office of Admissions office (Suite 136, Zilber Hall) at any point in the day and we can assist you with the options below: • Take a campus tour • See residence halls and dining halls (Residence hall tours begin at 10:00 am) • Tour the Raynor Memorial Libraries • See campus recreation facilities • Grab coffee at one of our Brew Cafes o Bayou (Alumni Memorial Union, first floor) o Brew @ The Bridge (Located on the bridge between the second floors of the Raynor Libraries) o Brew Cudahy (Cudahy Hall, first floor) o Brew Straz (Straz Hall, first floor atrium) • Tour the Haggerty Art Museum on campus Tours available at 11 am, 12 pm, and pm • Sit in on a class (class visit options available at the Admissions Office) • Speak with an Admissions or Financial Aid counselor • Explore Milwaukee – we are happy to provide recommendations!
