Economic Impact One Day Every Sea Gull Everywhere On April 4, 2017, SU alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents and friends joined together to support Salisbury University students for SU’s inaugural Giving Day, GullsGive24 Fueled by a matching gift from alumni Wayne ’89 and Melissa Judkins ’89 (right), GullsGive24 was a tremendous success with 487 donors raising over $80,000 in gifts and commitments Donors gave over $34,000 to help various programs and organizations across campus, unlocking $14,000 worth of challenge gifts and earning $30,000 worth of matching gifts! So many deserving organizations, academic departments and student groups benefited from Salisbury University supporters on this one day Sea Gull Century The economic impact of the Sea Gull Century bicycling tour for Salisbury, is significant – approximately $7 million In 2016, Sea Gull Century brought nearly 6,700 participants to the Lower Eastern Shore Many of these participants traveled from other states, with approximately 85 percent of survey respondents traveling 100 miles or more to attend the event The bike tour travels through the tri-county area Post-Century, some 40 percent of net proceeds are awarded to the local community
