have their starting quarterback in there either They ran the ball extremely well and threw the ball well I really was encouraged by our rushing attack I think that can be a sign of the times We had a true freshman tackle in there There are some positive things in there Not a ton of positive things, but I appreciate the effort by a lot of young guys there in the second half I thought they came out and continued to stay in the fight The way we were running the football, we had a shot to flip it around It’s a loss It’s another one, but we have to move forward and lick our wounds and see who we have healthy to play this next week Cam I think will be okay next week He would have probably been an emergency situation if we came back further We thought Nick could some things the way we were running the football We are confident that Cam will be back next week Josh we think will be out 6-8 weeks (Sophomore running back Brian Hill) “It was encouraging to break a couple big runs The offensive line really played well and made some big holes for Shaun [Wick] and I I feel like they were able to load the box a little more after Josh [Allen] was out, but like you said he ran the ball for us a couple times and they were pretty big plays He did his job to the best of his ability We just have to see how we respond We’ve been slapped in the mouth two times so far We just have to find a way to win games We have the talent, but we just have to find a way to put it together for a whole game We have to put it together as an offense and take some pressure of the defense (Redshirt freshman quarterback Nick Smith) “I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to come out and experience my first collegiate game I haven’t played since high school, so I feel blessed to get the opportunity to play It all happened pretty quick I think there were a lot of emotions running through my head I felt prepared, but still nervous It kind of flies by real fast Things were moving fast, but nothing I couldn’t handle It was tough to get in a rhythm at times There were some throws I could have made, but we were running the ball so well Nerves on my part played into it too I have to take every week as it is and continue to get better That shouldn’t change as a quarterback I should prepare just as much no matter where I am on the depth chart I’m just going to help this team however I can Eastern Michigan Postgame Quotes Following a 48-29 road win versus Wyoming Head Coach Chris Creighton: “It’s been a real interesting week because our football program involves more than just players and coaches putting so much into the season and the old dominion game was a deeply disappointing outcome last week The way that we started and then to fall late in that game There was a slow build to this week, because naturally when you lose guys are irate and furious You almost have to calm them down and they are just ready to go right away That wasn’t really the case to be honest with you We were going to learn a lot even though it was a slow build emotionally through the week For a team that hasn’t had much recent success, and to come off a disappointing loss and then to go on the road, to stay together and take the good from last week to concentrate on that Then to start off the way we did with a three and out, and then they go down and score, so its 7-0, we found ourselves in a pretty familiar spot That all comes from the inside out and the character of our guys And I gotta say our coaches have been going to work for a year and a half and came up with three great plans, with special teams and the offense and the defense So it’s a really big deal for us, a really big deal I give all the credit to coach Keen for putting [the onside kick] in the scouting report, so we knew if we got a look that we could it, and we also knew if we were up early we wanted to it if it was there You know he looked at me and said ‘let’s it.’ So it was a pretty moment in the game for us and it took a long time for them to figure out if it was ten yards or not, but we were pretty confident that it was
