Make-A-Wish Foundation Kaylan, Erin, Vivian, Laura, and Manuela Marketing, Kean University, caiazzok@kean.edu, earaneo@kean.edu, derasv@kean.edu, isonl@kean.edu, gavirima@kean.edu Introduction (NPO) The "Make-A-Wish Foundation'' is an organization founded in the United States that helps children with illnesses fulfill their wishes The organization helps children from 2.5 all the way up to 18 years of age, make their dreams come true The inspiration behind this foundation was 7-year-old, Christopher Greicius Christopher was battling leukemia in the year 1980 and wished to be a police officer In that year, his community made his wish come true, and from there, the Make-A-Wish foundation was created for children with critical illnesses Today, “Make-A-Wish” has fulfilled the wishes of more than 315,000 children in the United States Goals & Target The goal for the “Make-A-Wish Foundation” is for children to be granted a wish to get through their journey When children grant their wish it builds physical and mental strength within Want to have a life-changing experience for children to reach for the stars The target is for families to replace fear with confidence, joy and hope Helping a positive force to undergo their battles with critical illness and to overcome their obstacles in life Digital Marketing Strategy With “Make-A-Wish Foundation we are trying to bring awareness to children with critical illnesses and trying to get people to donate to the the foundation so that more kids can get their wish granted, This foundation is non-profit so the only way to grant wishes is by donations Digital Marketing continued A lot of the “Make-A-Wish Foundation’s” promotion comes from social media and television marketing such as commercials and television specials We are trying to continue this by promoting the foundation on social media By promoting the foundation on social media like Instagram and Twitter, it allows for more access to a broader audience A large part of the money that is received from donations is spent on wishes but also in fundraising, management and general costs Creating different type of fundraisers and sharing children’s illness stories helps people donate and get involved Conclusion 7-year-old Zayden with a heart condition was able to blast-off into a virtual Saturn His wish was to be able to go to Saturn on a red rocket ship and “Make-A-Wish” was able to make it happen Sharing stories like these is what makes people want to donate to the foundation because they are granting the wishes of children who not have a lot of time These wishes bring back the smiles on the kids’s faces The “Make-A-Wish Foundation” continues to bring joy to the lives of many It is a great, loving way to spread positivity and hope for ones in need This foundation allows happiness into the lives of many, including children who are suffering from these diseases as well as the families involved “Make-A-Wish” provides a gleam of hope that creates a positive and significant impact
