Opportunity Announcement NYSADC Fellowship to Address Oral Health Disparities With generous support from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, the New York State Academic Dental Centers (NYSADC) is pleased to offer fellowship opportunities to gain advanced training in providing care for people with special needs in New York State NYSADC is committed to addressing the gaps in access to oral health care for people with special needs – particularly those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) Graduates of U.S dental schools who have completed at least one year of postgraduate training, are eligible for licensure in New York State and are committed to improving access to care for people with special needs are encouraged to apply Fellows will provide direct patient care in clinical settings that specialize in serving people with I/DD and devote 20% of their time to teaching and/or research at one of New York’s six academic dental centers for the duration of the fellowship year Following the fellowship year, fellows will commit to one year in practice settings in New York State with significant special needs patient populations and continuing their teaching and research responsibilities For further information, please contact NYSADC at info@amsny.org About NYSADC: The New York State Academic Dental Centers (NYSADC), comprising Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, New York University College of Dentistry, Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, Touro College of Dental Medicine, University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and the Eastman Institute for Oral Health at the University of Rochester, are national leaders in dental education, research and clinical care These institutions educate and train students and residents and provide vital patient care to underserved and special needs populations
