University / Agency/ Department New Mexico State University Counseling Service, Aggie Health & Wellness Center Position Title Counseling Psychologist Position Description / Job Duties Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position; prepares treatment plans, termination and client referral as appropriate; provides therapeutic crisis intervention, career counseling, and emergency services as appropriate Collects data about clients through interview, triage/intake, psychological assessments, and /or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify causes of problems and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to other specialists Consults and collaborates in an integrative multidisciplinary center Ability to develop and present education outreach programs/workshops May serve as an outreach liaison on campus Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Provides psychological and counseling services of a remedial, preventive, and developmental nature through direct and indirect (consultation) contacts with students, faculty, and staff individually and in-groups) Provides training and supervision for APA accredited internship site Engages in interdisciplinary consultation and collaboration in an integrated health center Provides counseling, therapy, and/or psychotherapy to clients and families as appropriate to the position;
