Selection of Peer, Aspirant, and Competitive Schools of Business Using AACSB Knowledge Service – Business School Profiles, the College of Business at USI selected several screening criteria in developing a peer and aspirant institutions list The criteria utilized are as follows: Institutional Control - Public AACSB accredited institutions with and without separate Accounting accreditation Religious affiliation – Not affiliated Carnegie Classification – Master’s Colleges and Universities I Operating Budget in the $4 - $8 million range Full-Time faculty 40 - 60 range Operating Budget Per Full-Time Faculty : $90,000 - $175,000 Number of Students Enrolled (undergraduate) Number of Students Enrolled (graduate) Mission orientation Given the above criteria the following institutions were selected as peer schools: Arkansas State University University of Central Arkansas Minnesota State University – Mankato University of Louisiana at Monroe* University of Central Missouri* Southeast Missouri State University * AACSB Accounting Accreditation Utilizing the above criteria, as well as the sound reputation of the Schools for progressive and successful management, the following institutions were selected as aspirant schools: Ball State University * Grand Valley State University * Kennesaw State University * Tennessee Tech University * University of Houston – Clear Lake * * AACSB Accounting Accreditation Based on student surveys, student transfer documentation, tuition, and general geographic proximity, the following institutions were viewed as competitor schools: Ball State University Indiana University – Southeast Indiana State University Murray State University Northern Kentucky University Western Kentucky University Eastern Kentucky University Western Illinois University
