UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL ARKANSAS Interdisciplinary PhD in Leadership (LEAD) Application Process To be eligible for admission to The University of Central Arkansas, the applicant must:   Have completed a master’s degree with minimum GPA of 3.00 before the term applied for begins and Have completed the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) within the past five (5) years Steps in Application Process Step 1: To apply for the PhD in Leadership program, applicants must complete admissions requirements for both the UCA Graduate School and the PhD in Leadership program (LEAD) Graduate School To meet the Graduate School requirements, applicants must-Apply for admission to the UCA Graduate School by completing the online application (501.450.3124 or http://www.uca.edu/graduateschool/admission-process/) A non-refundable $25 application fee will be remitted to the Graduate School The completed application will be reviewed by the Graduate School, and the student will be informed of admission status by the Graduate School in writing Materials required in Graduate School application   Official copy of scores from Graduate Record Examination (GRE), taken in the last five years (The PhD in Leadership Admissions Committee suggests a minimum score of 153 verbal, 144 quantitative, and 4.5 writing.) Official transcripts of all completed college coursework from every institution attended as an undergraduate and graduate student PhD in Leadership Submit materials for admission to the Interdisciplinary PhD in Leadership program (501.8520912 or www.uca.edu/phdleadership/) The application deadline is April of each year and all materials must be received by the LEAD program by this time Materials submitted to the program will be reviewed by the LEAD Admissions Committee Admission is competitive Materials will be reviewed holistically with special attention paid to demonstrated writing ability, the relationship between the applicant’s professional aspirations/experience and the vision/goals of the program, and GRE scores The student will be informed of admission status by the Admissions Committee in writing To seek admission into the PhD in Leadership program, applicants must submit  Current vita or resume,  Statement of Intent explaining how the LEAD program is aligned with the applicant’s professional goals (one to three pages), and  Three letters of recommendation – These letters are to be sent directly from the referral to PhD Leadership Program Director 201 Donaghey Avenue, Mashburn 235 Conway, AR 72035 Step 2: The LEAD Admissions Committee carefully reviews all applications sometime after the April 1, 2014 deadline Preliminary decisions will be made by May 1, 2014 Step 3: Selected applicants may be asked to participate in personal interviews Step 4: If an interview takes place, committee members will conduct a final review of each applicant and compile a prioritized list of acceptable candidates Based upon the number of openings and the other resources, top-ranked applicants will be invited to accept the invitation and enroll by a certain date Additional acceptable applicants will be placed on a waiting list, and if seats become available later, invited to accept the invitation and enroll For additional information, Contact Dr Rhonda McClellan, Director and Associate Professor, 501.852-0912 or rmcclellan@uca.edu
