The Search for Peace in Times of Chaos—Volume contained in a single, organized, hierarchical community, but the Bahá’í population is spread out into almost every country and ethnicity in the world, being recognized as the second-most geographically widespread religion after Christianity.“ Official estimates of the worldwide Bahá’í population come from the Bahá’í World Centre, which claims ‘more than million Bahá’ís (201 ) in some 100,000 localities’.”2 hey are currently the largest religious minority in Iran, where the religion first started God or Gods The Bahá’í belief in One God means that the universe and all creatures and forces within it have been created by a single supernatural Being This Being, whom we call God, has absolute authority over His creation (omnipotence) as well as perfect and complete knowledge of it (omniscience) Although we may have different concepts of God’s nature, although we may pray to Him in different languages and call Him by different names—Allāh or Yahweh, God or Brahma—nevertheless, we are speaking about the unique Being.3 One God manifests the essence of Himself through divine educators who act as perfect mirrors of His attributes The differences between these manifestations are due to the varying cultures and eras in which the messages were propagated They emphasize the doctrine of monotheism, and they believe the true interpretation of such doctrines as the Trinity is a symbolic rather than literal sense “The e xistence of God is thought to be eternal, without a beginning or end Though inaccessible directly, God is nevertheless seen as conscious of His creation, with a will and purpose In Bahá’í belief, God expresses this will in many ways, including through a series of Divine Messengers referred to as Manifestations of God or sometimes divine educators.”4 In expressing God’s intent and guidance, these manifestations have established religions in the world and strengthened our relationship with God
