Finding the Common Ground Between Science and Spirituality ceptible but is the source of all matter It has no appearance of its own; it is the basis of all appearances Different people may see it differently in their own subjective ways Attributes: The infinite and the infinitesimal cannot be assigned any specific attributes because all attributes are sourced from it We cannot say it is good and we cannot say it is bad since both the opposites are included in it Capabilities: The infinite and the infinitesimal cannot be assigned any specific capability, for it is the source of all of them It is omnipotent and all-powerful and yet impotent and powerless Feelings and Tendencies: The infinite and the infinitesimal have no feelings and tendencies of their own, yet they are the source of all feelings and tendencies On one side, they represent boundless life, love, and compassion if we truly and deeply realize that they are our common ground connecting us all into one existence; indeed, we not exist without them On the other hand, if we don’t perceive them as common ground, they can also represent divisions, death, hatred, exploitation, and destruction if we truly see them in our own image “etched in stone” in our own subjective way Helpful Terminology and Concepts A discussion of some terminology and concepts may be helpful for getting a grip on the paradoxical nature of existence We see the universe as comprising matter and energy (mind) Are these two distinct entities or are they a continuity of existence?
