Lyceum Philharmonic at American Heritage School, led by Kayson Brown, has reached the top of the Billboard Charts on three separate albums, was featured on PBS with The Piano Guys, recorded for SONY Masterworks wtih lexi Walker, and has been viewed over 100 million times on YouTube! These accomplished young musicians come from more than 30 schools across the state of Utah to participate in the after-school Lyceum Orchestras Program at American Heritage School in American Fork, Utah They are part of a comprehensive program consisting of five audition-only orchestras that inspire and mentor students ages 5-18 They seek to: Inspire - nurture a live of elevated music, increased faith, and patriotism through purposeful events and media Instruct - develop self-discipline, skills, and character through transformational teaching and professional-level experience and interaction And Impact (Result of Inspiring and Instructing) - awaken individuals, families, and communities to the power music has to change hearts and minds while fulfilling divine potential Stephen Sharp nelson of The Piano Guys said, “The Lyceum Orchestras Program is an incomparable combination of everything that music is meant to be - joy, refinement, belonging, and fun It offers kids the kind of opportunities that make music exciting and cool It provides an environment that isn’t blindly affixed upon purposeless perfection, but rather a more selfless pursuit of excellence My favorite part of Lyceum is its inherent spirituality There is a special feeling suggesting a profound development, not only of the body and mind, but of the soul.” Graduating Seniors Alexander Goslin - Is currently submitting his application to serve as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and anticipates a summer of 2021 departure Alex plays clarinet, bass clarinet, and piano in Philharmonic in addition to his musical pursuits on soprano, tenor, and baritone sax Following his two-year church service, he anticipates continuing his studies at Utah Valley University Alison Robbins - Received the Presidential Scholarship and Music Department Scholarships at Utah Valley University She also received the Presidential and Music Scholarships at Southern Utah University Alison will be attending Brigham Young University next fall Annalise Schetselaar - Has soloed with multiple orchestras in her ten years in the Lyceum Youth Orchestras program She is the recipient of multiple scholarships both for music and athletics, including the Southern Virginia University Marriott Scholarship, Music Department Scholarship She plans to serve an LDS mission in the summer of 2022 and will be attending Southern Virginia University in the fall where she will also participate on the SVU Women’s Tennis Team Brinley Burke - Received the full-tuition Heritage Scholarship at Brigham Young University as well as the Presidential Scholarship at Utah State University She has played violin in the Lyceum Youth Orchestras for five years and will be attending BYU in the fall Chance Smithson - Received the Presidential Scholarship at Utah Valley University Chance has played principal bass in multiple Lyceum Youth Orchestras over four years and will be attending Brigham Young University in the fall Daniela Clark - Is accepted to the nursing program at Utah Valley University where she anticipates continuing her studies next fall She is a four-year participant in Lyceum Youth Orchestras and a talented artist David Hanson - Has accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in the Adriatic North Mission He is accepted to Brigham Young University and plans to continue his studies there following his two-year church service Eliza Halbrook - Received the Utah State University Presidential Academic Scholarship and Music Department Scholarship She also received awards including Distinguished Young Women Academic Scholarship and Distinguished Young Women Be Ambitious Scholarship She will be attending Utah State University in violin performance Emmaline Saunders - Emmaline will be graduating after ten consecutive years participating in Lyceum Youth Orchestras She received the Presidential Scholarship from Utah Valley University Eric Curry - Received a Music Department Scholarship and Marching Band Distinguished Entrance Scholarship from the University of Utah He also received a music scholarship from Snow College He will be attending the University of Utah majoring in Music Composition next fall and intends to serve a full-time mission after college Faith Newbold - Is graduating with a 4.0 GPA and is planning to attend Utah State University where she was awarded the Presidential Scholarship (full tuition), as well as a scholarship from the Department of Music and Band Program She also received full-tuition scholarships at Brigham Young Scholarship and Southern Utah University (Presidential Scholarship) Garrett Jenson - Participated seven years in the Lyceum Youth Orchestras and will be attending Brigham Young University He is currently submitting papers to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Grant Hill - Grant has accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in the Cape Town, South Africa Mission He was a Sterling Scholar State Finalist in the Business & Marketing category Following his two-year church service, he plans to attend Brigham Young University where he has received a full-tuition scholarship Hailey Helton - Plans to serve a full-time mission in the summer of 2022 and is currently looking forward to attending Utah Valley University in the fall majoring in Political Science and American Government Hunter Lundberg - Has accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in the Argentina Buenos Aires Mission Following his two-year church service, he plans to continue his studies at Brigham Young University where he has been accepted Jonathan Hanson - Has accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in the Birmingham England Mission Following his two-year church service, he plans to attend Brigham Young University where he received a full-tuition scholarship to major in cello performance Karina Miner - Has accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in the Nevada Reno Mission Following her eighteen-month service, she plans to attend the University of Utah to pursue a degree in cello performance She received over $20,000 in scholarship funds from the University of Utah She also received Academic and Music Scholarships from Utah State University and was accepted into the BYU Music Department She was recently featured in the global Young Women 150th Anniversary Broadcast for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Karina is the youngest of four siblings all of whom participated in Lyceum Youth Orchestras She participated for ten years in the program Kelly Ko - Received the Heritage Scholarship from Brigham Young University and the Utah Flagship Scholarship and Engineering Department Scholarship from the University of Utah She will be attending BYU in the fall majoring in Computer Science She participated in Lyceum Youth Orchestras for nine years Lauren Jacob - Received a full-tuition scholarship at Brigham Young University and the Presidential Scholarship at Utah State, Southern Utah, and Dixie She maintained a perfect 4.0 average and will be attending BYU in the fall Lauren participated for nine years in the Lyceum Youth Orchestra Program Luke Sheffer - Received scholarships from Snow College in music performance He will be attending Utah Valley University in the fall majoring in Commercial Music Marissa Madsen - Received the Presidential Scholarship and Music Department Scholarship at Utah Valley University She also received the Utah Flagship Scholarship at the University of Utah and the Presidential Scholarship at Westminster University She will be attending Utah Valley University in the fall Mason Briggs - Has accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in Chihuahua Mexico Following his two-year church service, he plans to attend BYU-Idaho and major in aerospace engineering He received scholarships to Southern Utah University and is graduating with an enhanced diploma in music Matthew Ashton - Has accepted a call to serve an LDS Mission in Brazil beginning this July He received a half-tuition scholarship to the prestigious Aerospace Engineering program at Utah State University He maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA through high school Maya Hughes - Received the Summit Scholarship and Music Department Scholarship at the University of Oregon She received Academic Scholarships at Utah State University and Southern Virginia University in addition to a generous Music Department Scholarship She will be attending Southern Virginia University in the fall to pursue a degree in Commercial Music with an emphasis on becoming a studio violinist to build on the recording experiences she has had in the Lyceum Youth Orchestra Program where she participated for seven years Paul Petersen - Has submitted his papers to serve an LDS Mission and is awaiting a call He is the recipient of the Flagship Scholarship at the University of Utah where he intends to continue his studies following his two-year church service Rebecca Cook - Received a generous talent scholarship from the Utah State University Music Department where she will continue her studies as a cello performance major She also received the Distinguished Young Women Academic Scholarship She participated in Lyceum Youth Orchestras for ten consecutive years and is the principal cellist of the Lyceum Philharmonic Rebekah Loveridge - Received a four-year, full-tuition Music Department Scholarship and talent grant from BYU-Idaho, and the Presidential Scholarship and Music Department Scholarship from Southern Utah University She will be attending BYU-Idaho next fall majoring in violin performance Stephen Cannon - Received the Heritage Scholarship and National Merit Scholarship from Brigham Young University as well as the Presidential Scholarship and Huntsman Scholar Program at Utah State University Stephen has been coprincipal trumpet for the last two years in Lyceum Philharmonic He intends to serve a full-time LDS mission next summer and will be attending BYU as a business major next fall Willam Cvetko - Has received a full-tuition scholarship to attend Brigham Young University where he plans to major in math and physics He is a three-year Lyceum Philharmonic veteran and co-principal trumpet William intends to serve a full-time mission next summer for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
