Exercise Science/Physical Therapy Jacob Whitehurst, Tallmadge, Slippery Rock University Exercise Science/Physical Therapy Sarah Young, Hudson, University of Toledo - Nursing Phil Kaderle attends national medical program Last summer, Roosevelt student Phil Kaderle attended the National Youth Leadership Forum: Medicine at Babson College in Massachusetts “This opportunity was a jumpstart into my health care/medicine world,” Phil explains “I loved it and I learned all about how to get into medical school and what actually goes on in a medical school.” As part of the experience, Phil observed a knee surgery and also talked with a number of physicians with different specialties Next summer, he plans to attend an Advanced Medicine program at Johns Hopkins University in Maryland New promo banner designed for AHCF AHCF Ambassadors Rachel Ivins, Stow-Munroe Falls, and Pippa Underwood, Roosevelt, were featured on a new AHCF promotional banner, which will be displayed in the classroom and at informational opportunities   Rachel is attending Slippery Rock University, where she is majoring in Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy  Pippa is attending Kent State University and majoring in Exercise Science   Athletic Health Care and Fitness Malone University prof mentors student When Matt Noel, Tallmadge, toured Malone University on a college visit, he met a professor who became his mentor for his Capstone Research Project Matt was being recruited to play baseball for Malone After meeting Dr Stephen Wirick, a professor in Exercise Science, Matt asked him to be his mentor for his research project, “Review of Current Training Methods in Baseball.”   Matt is now a freshman at Malone, playing baseball and majoring in Exercise Science He plans to continue on to earn a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy Dr Wirick says that Matt’s previous knowledge of exercise science and anatomy puts him ahead of most beginning students   www.sixdistrict.com January 2016
