I proposed this project in September 1986 after attending the United States Space Academy The study was approved and I was teamed up with three students from across the United States in order to work on a combined project that would eventually be taken into space onboard the space shuttle At the end of seven years of frequent experimentation and meetings with our NASA sponsor, the project was
