2018 LONG ISLAND ATHENA YOUNG PROFESSIONAL AWARD NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS The ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award is an international award presented to emerging women leaders across professional sectors for exemplary leadership A natural extension of the original ATHENA Leadership Award, which has honored nearly 6,000 established women leaders worldwide, the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award was established in 2007 by ATHENA International and is nationally underwritten by KPMG For more information, please visit: www.athenainternational.org THE CRITERIA ATHENA Young Professional Nominees are emerging women leaders Past recipients of this award have shown true dedication to their community and their profession ATHENA Young Professional nominees are women leaders who meet each of the following criteria: • • • • Is establishing herself as a business leader; demonstrating excellence, creativity and initiative Is seen as a role model for younger women both professionally and personally Is seen to provide valuable service to improve the quality of life for others in her community; is viewed as an advocate for others Is building relationships with people inside and outside of her network; drawing upon her network to collaborate and help enrich the lives of others QUALIFICATIONS • • • • They may represent either the profit or not-for-profit sector All nominees must live and work on Long Island A minimum of years of professional experience demonstrating progressive advancement through their career Must be able to demonstrate volunteerism or some form of community outreach internal and external to their workplace role COMPLETING THE FORM • • • • • For nominees- you are encouraged to work with your nominator closely to complete this form Self-nominations are also welcomed For nominators- you are encouraged to work with your nominee closely to complete this form Nominations must be submitted using this nomination form and format You have the option to include no more than two pages of additional information about your nominee Prior year ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award recipient biographies are attached for your reference The Athena Awards are awarded without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, age, gender, disability or other protected status. 2017 Athena YPL Finalist Biographies.pdf • • Visit the ATHENA LI LinkedIn group to download this form and submit your nomination to below KPMG contact Deadline for submission is August 31, 2017 The Athena Awards are awarded without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, age, gender, disability or other protected status.
