Qualifications: Experience in developing and administering grants preferred Supervisory experience preferred Successful experience in teaching/working with diverse student and adult populations Ability to communicate and work well with teachers, administrators, trustees and others Ability to use independent judgment to solve problems Must pass criminal background check Goal: To use leadership, supervisory and administrative skills to develop and manage a successful educational program that engages students, parents and volunteers Duties and Responsibilities: Parma School District #137 Page1 To develop and manage an educational program that fulfills the requirements of the Parma Learning Center grant To make recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, lay-off or disciplinary action of all Parma Learning Center personnel To assure the Parma Learning Center programs complement regular classroom instruction To collaborate with the State Department of Education evaluating the effectiveness of the Parma Learning Center program To report results of program implementation and progress to the Parma Learning Center Advisory Board and Parma School District Board of Trustees To maintain an inventory of instructional materials and equipment To coordinate technical assistance to project instructors and other staff as indicated by needs assessment, program review, on-site observation and special requests To direct in the establishment and planning of the Parma Learning Center Advisory Board To manage program budgets and maintain accurate records of all PLC 21st Century Grant Program Director Qualification requirements: Considerable experience and skill with data entry and management; skill with internet-based programs Skill with other basic data management programs such as Excel and Access Good spelling and grammar skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be responsible, flexible, creative, and willing to learn and use the required web-based management/evaluation program to record all data and information necessary to meet grant requirements Must have experience working with students and have instructional experience Must be detail focused and able to follow instructions and take and follow directions Knowledge of copying, collating, and preparing and mailing correspondence to families, students, and staff Good People skills and communications skills Hours: Extremely flexible, maximum of 19.5 hours per week Some of the responsibilities of this position can be done at home, if the applicant has access to and skill with the internet Would require attendance Parma School District #137 Page1 Duties/responsibilities: Collect and record accurate attendance records in the management system each day/week; collect accurate snack counts and convey these numbers to the school’s food service supervisor by the 1st of each month; assist Program Director with entering and updating student enrollment information in the management system according to required timelines; assist Program Director with all program-related correspondence and communication with families and regular school staff Update Program Website and Post required memos and information in newspapers, send home regular PLC newsletters This might include development of complete and accurate mailing lists, mailing labels, etc., as well as copying and distributing announcements/memos, monthly calendars, and informational brochures Assist Program Director and other staff with contacting families in case of unexpected program closure due to inclement weather or other emergency Report to program, (2) weeks before the programs start date and (2) weeks after end date Prepare and check for accuracy all federal report reports for director approval Attend meetings as director requests Assist with staff, board and student aide meetings Other duties as assigned by Program Director Office Clerk/ Director Assistant Job appropriate individual learning goals for each enrolled student, based upon ISAT scores, and implement each student’s plan Duties and Responsibilities: To meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated To plan a program of study that meets the students individual needs in his/her area of greatest academic need To create a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students Will provide supervision to paraprofessional and high school student tutors Will assist the Program Director, other staff, and volunteers in the selection, supervision, and facilitation of enrichment activities appropriate for a wide range of ages and skill levels Will assist to the Program Director with data collection and DISTRICT #137 PLC HIGH SCHOOL TUTOR Job Description/Work Agreement 2016-2017 Reports to: 21st Century Grant Director Qualifications: Be reliable and trustworthy Have a high degree of commitment and responsibility Ability to interact and work positively with students in grades 1-6 at all times Ability to learn and take direction from adult staff members Ability to make a time commitment of 10-14 hours per week, after school Duties and Responsibilities: Meet Elementary School students enrolled in the After School Program at 3:00/3:30 p.m (as assigned) in the Elementary School Cafeteria or meet the Middle School Students at 3:00 p.m at the PLC- West Wing Classroom, Mondays through Thursdays While assisting with supervision, Tutors must constantly be alert to potential problem behaviors and dangers and must take the initiative to intervene to prevent problems and/or to notify and adult staff member so that appropriate action may be taken Tutors are not responsible to discipline students, but they are expected to follow through with positive behavior supports as instructed by adult staff While on the job, Tutors must spend their time working with and for staff and students Tutors must not conduct personal business while on duty This includes personal phone calls, entertaining personal visitors, ding personal homework, and sending or received personal e-mail or text messages Because of the level of responsibility related to the Tutor duties, it is absolutely imperative that Tutors be reliable and responsible Although accommodations may be made to work around Tutor’s sports practice and game schedules, it shall be the responsibility of the Tutor to provide his/her supervisor (teacher and/or program director) with a written copy of the sports schedule, and to inform his/her supervisor immediately when a coach makes a schedule change that affects the tutor’s work schedule If a Tutor must miss work unexpectedly, the Tutor must inform the Program Director and his/her supervisor as soon as possible, so that arrangements may be made to cover the position Failure to so could result in immediate dismissal Page1 While supervising on the playground, Tutors must be attentive to the students at all times This is not a social time to visit with other Tutors PLC HIGH SCHOOL TUTOR Job Description Page It is the responsibility of the Tutor to report accurate hours on his/her time sheet and turn in the time sheet to the Program Director, or assistant, by the 15 th of each Any falsifying of time sheets could result in immediate dismissal Therefore, fill out your time sheets daily It is the responsibility of the Tutor to act in a professional manner at all times while on duty Any time a Tutor engages in conduct that is harmful (physically, mentally, or emotionally) to a child under his/her supervision, they will be put on immediate suspension Depending on the incident, and at the discretion of the Program Director, that Tutor may be dismissed immediately Tutors may not bring to the program any materials containing vulgar language or images and/or gang-related language or images This includes CDs, iPods, or any other portable music source, magazines, articles of clothing, or books Any Tutor bringing such items to the program shall be immediately dismissed Attend all scheduled staff meetings Employment Terms: 10-12 hours (3:00 – 5:30)
