national championship An uncle recommended WVU, and this was the only university he applied to He learned about American football after arriving at WVU, because “a big thing to in Morgantown is to go to all football games, and most people in my hometown don’t know how the sport is played.” He also enjoys hiking nearby in Coopers Rock State Forest: “The sunrise and sunset from the top of the mountains is the best thing you can see.” A psychology major from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she says, “WVU appealed to me both academically and socially; it has the level of research I was hoping to gain experience in and extracurricular activities that allow me to explore my other interests The amount of outdoor activities one can pursue in West Virginia was also a huge plus!” Her advice? “Don’t be afraid to explore uncharted waters and explore your interests and passions Take every opportunity presented to you and go beyond; take the first step If you’re like me and listened to “Country Roads” back home, you won’t think that it’s true, but country roads will take you home — all you have to is take that first step.” FIND A MENTOR Our International Student Assistant Mentor program
