Chicago-area and nationally-based journalists, and featured in various major media outlets, including print, web-based, television, and radio WHAT THE PROGRAM OFFERS ACADEMIC PEDAGOGY Instructors employ various teaching methods, including lecture and discussion, case analyses, individual and group projects, and presentations These methods have proved to be both stimulating and challenging classroom experiences for executive learning LOCK STEP Entire program will be run as a cohort All individuals begin the program together, sharing the same educational experience and taking the same courses in the same sequence throughout the program This lock-step approach allows students to develop effective teams with other class members PROGRAM DELIVERY All courses will be offered through Northern Illinois University, College of Business The program will include site visits to various government offices subject to availability These could include but are not limited to: Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, Chicago City Hall, Illinois Executive Inspector General’s Office, Federal Reserve Bank, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Illinois State Capitol, Washington DC, Chicago Board of Trade, Internal Revenue Service, US Federal Building, Rockford Area Economic Development Council, and the Social Security Office in Chicago CHICAGO SIGHT SEEING TRIP Chicago is the largest city by population Fortune 500 headquarters according to World Business Chicago, a not-forprofit economic development organization GRADUATION CEREMONY The cohort will participate in a graduation ceremony at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, IL campus, following the completion of the program, where they will be awarded a certificate of completion of the program PROGRAM CONTENT This Program is designed with weeks of instructions The first week of the program consists of Leadership, Banking and Finance During the second week participants will focus on Strategic Risk, Financial Human Resources, and IT Strategy Participants will have lecture in the morning and application exercises/group work in the afternoon Thursday and Friday will be designed for field trip experiences All Program Schedules and Talent Management Training and Development Organizational Effectiveness IT STRATEGIC RISK In this course, participants will have advanced cutting edge knowledge in a variety of areas that will
