Application Note University of Wisconsin – Madison- B.B.A in Business: International Business I PROGRAM DESCRIPTION https://bus.wisc.edu/current-student-resources/bba/majors-specializations-certificates/internationalbusiness II DEADLINE  FRESHMEN Decision Plan Application Deadline Decision Spring 2019 Regular Decision October End of December Fall 2019 Early Action November End of December Fall 2019 Regular Decision February End of March The fall and spring term applications open August The following deadlines pertain to both domestic and international applicants Applications and all required supporting documents are due by 11:59 p.m Pacific time on the noted deadline dates https://www.admissions.wisc.edu/apply/ III.ADMISSION REQUIREMENT  GPA AND CLASS RANK Applicants are expected to achieve a high level of performance in the course work they pursue and an increasingly strong academic record We ask for your GPA and class rank We also realize that many schools consider GPA on different scales and some not report GPA or class rank at all We consider both GPA and rank in the context of your school We typically see unweighted, academic GPAs between a 3.8 and a 4.0, and a class rank in the 85-97 percentile  OFFICIAL TEST SCORES Scores from either the ACT or the SAT are required and must be sent directly from the testing agency We not require the writing portion of either the ACT or the SAT  Our test code is 4656 for the ACT and 1846 for the SAT  Do not send your results rush (SAT) or priority (ACT); we receive all scores electronically on a daily basis so there is not an advantage to rush or priority delivery  To assure consideration in our Early Action competition, scores must be requested from the testing agency and received by our office by November Students who wish to apply for Early Action are encouraged to take the ACT or SAT by the end of September, and request their scores be sent immediately For consideration in our Regular Decision competition, students are encouraged to take their test no later than the end of December  Freshman applicants from non-English speaking countries must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score, unless English was the language of instruction for all courses in all years of secondary school Application Note TOEFL must be submitted electronically from the testing service We not accept the IELTS electronically Please have a paper copy of your results sent to our office through the mail If you feel that you qualify for a TOEFL or IELTS waiver, please send an email to our office and a counselor will determine if the waiver criteria are met https://www.admissions.wisc.edu/apply/freshman/materials.php  TEST SCORES  Generally, admitted students have an Internet-based TOEFL score in the 95-105 range (587-620 on the paper-based test) or an IELTS score of 6.5-7.5  Scores from either the ACT or the SAT are required and must be sent directly from the testing agency We not require the writing portion of either the ACT or the SAT  We consider the highest composite score obtained in a single test administration as your "official" score, although we will look at all scores reported in an effort to get a true sense of your achievement  Admitted students will typically score between 28-32 on the ACT and 1330-1460 on the SAT, although there is no minimum required score To assure consideration in our Early Action competition, students are encouraged to take the ACT or SAT no later than the end of September For consideration in our Regular Decision competition, students are encouraged to take their test no later than the end of December  Freshman applicants from non-English speaking countries must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score, unless English was the language of instruction for all courses in all years of secondary school Our TOEFL test code is 1846 TOEFL must be submitted electronically from the testing service We not accept the IELTS electronically Please have a paper copy of your results sent to our office through the mail https://www.admissions.wisc.edu/apply/freshman/requirements.php https://www.admissions.wisc.edu/prepare/international.php IV PROCESS & MAILING ADDRESS  Freshman students can apply using either the UW System Application or the Common   Application  UW–Madison does not prefer one application over the other Please choose only one application and use only that application all the way through to submission  Please note that we not start processing fall term applications until September The application fee is $60.00 US and is non-refundable Transcripts  COURSE AND GRADE INFORMATION FROM GRADES 9-12  If you apply via the Common Application, you will need to self-report your courses and grades for the purposes of reviewing your application Application Note If you apply via the UW System Application, we require you submit official transcripts from all schools attended Official transcripts should be sent directly from each school attended  Electronic transcripts must be sent through a secure document sending service Transcripts sent through email, as an attachment, will not be accepted as official Paper transcripts sent to our office must bear an official school seal or be printed on the school's custom watermarked/security paper If you earned your General Educational Development (GED) certificate or a High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED), submit your official score report in addition to all high school or home school transcripts Official Test Scores  Test code is 4656 for the ACT and 1846 for the SAT Do not send your results rush (SAT) or priority (ACT); Yes High school students who are intent on pursuing a career in business are encouraged to apply to the Wisconsin BBA Program through our direct admit process, by applying to UW– Madison and indicating business as a primary or secondary interest Can I still choose to pursue an undergraduate (BBA) degree in business if I am not admitted to the Wisconsin BBA Program directly from high school? Yes Some students prefer to apply to the Wisconsin BBA Program in the spring semester of their first year at UW–Madison, which allows them to explore many fields of study before committing to a business degree You can take the time to determine whether an undergraduate business degree is the best fit for your interests and goals Should you decide to apply to the Wisconsin BBA Program, the liberal arts foundation you acquire will be a good foundation for a business career During your first year at UW–Madison, you can attend a number of admissions events hosted by the Wisconsin School of Business that will enable you to learn more about the Wisconsin School of Business and connect with current students and staff I am interested in applying to the Wisconsin BBA Program as a returning student Am I eligible?
