the typical young Vietnamese entrepreneur of 2019, she said: "I define myself as a professional employee, which means what is best for Sacombank shareholders, thousands of officers and employees, I will it” Those are the words that the CEO wants to affirm about the concept at work After more than 17 years of working at Sacombank from the position of an accountant, coming up from the persistent efforts Determining yourself to GROUP’S NAME: 07 ADVISOR: HOANG HA REPORT ASSIGNMENT 42 constantly learn and practice Experiencing many challenges at work, Ms Diem has cultivated herself to become a strong person and not easily subdued by any problem Despite holding a leading position in the Bank, she still frankly affirmed that nearly 19,000 employees are building Sacombank into a bank that does not depend on one boss or a group of people 2.1.4 Individual awards During her sticking career with Sacombank, she has brought to herself a series of large and small awards from domestic to international Outstanding in 2020, Sacombank's General Director has excellently won the "Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards 2020" For her, this is the result of a long and dedicated research process As the Bank's CEO, she and her associates led the bank to step by step overcome challenges, restructure the Bank on the right path, achieve positive growth and adapt to the development trend of the market Before that, in 2019 She was honored to become one of the 10 best individuals nationwide to be honored as: "Vietnam Red Star 2019" (Top 10 Typical Vietnamese Entrepreneurs 2019) The award is voted by the Central Vietnam Young Entrepreneurs Association based on the evaluation of all aspects of business activities and the leading role of leaders through vision, operating style and essential contributions for the sustainable development of businesses as well as for the community 2.2 WORKING ANALYSIS AT SACOMBANK 2.2.1 Role in leading the bank in the right direction It has been years since taking the position of General Director of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank, female CEO of Sacombank – Nguyen Duc Thach Diem has brought the bank out of difficulties and regained its inherent position This positive change is the result of a comprehensive process of managing and operating employees, building internal cultural relationships Above all, Ms GROUP’S NAME: 07 ADVISOR: HOANG HA REPORT ASSIGNMENT 43 Diem has well and accurately implemented the business philosophy, mission and values of the Bank Although she is not the one to build the framework of the Bank's business philosophy, missions and values, since she took the position of General Director of Sacombank, those frameworks have been applied and developed by her parallel with the process of restructuring the Bank and solving other problems Specifically, Ms Diem always takes the Bank's core values and missions as a premise: - Optimizing all-inclusive, modern and multi-utility financial solutions for customers - Maximizing added value for partners, investors and shareholders - Bringing career values and prosperity to employees - Accompanying the common development of the social community For partners, investors and shareholders request to divide dividends because they realize that the value of STB's shares does not increase dramatically and significantly like other banks Sacombank has not yet been able to pay dividends because it has to wait for the State Bank to approve As soon as it is approved by the State Bank, Sacombank will pay dividends The goal of satisfying customers and maximizing added value for partners, investors and shareholders is always a priority, digital technology solutions are proof that the Bank has implemented to optimize financial solutions, modern and convenient Regarding the staff system, she is one of the people holding the most important position of the Bank In order to satisfy the human resource system, Sacombank's General Director advocates regularly organizing training sessions and improving the quality of human resources as well as being able to find highly qualified individuals to attend higher positions GROUP’S NAME: 07 ADVISOR: HOANG HA REPORT ASSIGNMENT 44 With the community, Ms Diem organizes volunteer activities and community support projects From January 18, 2021 to January 2, 2021, Sacombank successfully organized the 18th "Spring love" project, visited and donated necessities to the Thanh Loc 's Center for Nurturing and Sponsoring polio people Besides this program, the Bank also implements many other activities such as blood donation "Sharing from the heart", Scholarship "Incubating dreams", With a customer-centric business philosophy, Ms Diem determined that all products and services provided by the Bank must be perfected in the direction of customer satisfaction In order for customers to trust the Bank's products and services, Sacombank must build a high reputation foundation To solve this problem, she implemented the following four solutions: - In 2018, launching Sacombank – Pay, a smart financial application with a modern and friendly user experience; application of leading payment technologies and tradable on a global scale - In 2019, successfully upgraded core - banking based on modern technology; help quickly provide products and services on digital channels - In 2020, successfully deploying LOS solution, helping to digitize and automate the credit appraisal and approval process Also in this year, develop a roadmap and strategy for digital transformation to make Sacombank become the leading digital bank in Vietnam The plan to diversify the product and service experience process with effective support from technology tools has given Sacombank an outstanding advantage and competes with state-owned banks and foreign-invested banks 2.2.3.2 Operational plans As the General Director of Sacombank, Ms Diem has directly drafted and enacted standing plans such as procedures and rules; single-use plans such as GROUP’S NAME: 07 ADVISOR: HOANG HA REPORT ASSIGNMENT 48 organizing programs and projects At the same time, in many cases, she delegated authority to subordinates Ms Diem regularly organizes many programs and projects and has achieved many successes She organizes the annual program "Sacombank Health" which both increases the connection between staff and helps to improve health Projects joining hands for the community, supporting the Central region because of natural disasters, floods and many other projects have received sympathy and support from customers This is clear evidence that female CEOs have succeeded in implementing these single-use plans 2.2.4 General view 2.2.4.1 The role of people in business When Ms Diem sat in the hot seat more than years ago, the members of the Board of Directors requested that the banking restructuring process be ensured to follow the correct orientation and the established roadmap, but it must be done correctly must grow the business To solve the problem, the female CEO raised the importance and affirmed that people are the key factors of banks, not except Sacombank There is only one difficult problem is how to reconcile nearly 19,000 people into a unified, united, creative in action and towards common goals This only happens when people are strong enough to overcome their ego, ignore personal selfishness, have a vision in one direction, then the expected results will become reality And above all, anyone who is willing to put the common interests first, will of course be honored and recognized by the system The General Director of Sacombank regularly gives positive messages to inspire as well as encourage officers and employees to remember this much For her, the CEO of the Bank has always put her trust in them because she knows, when trusted, people will have the energy and confidence needed to get the job done and stay away from temptations GROUP’S NAME: 07 ADVISOR: HOANG HA REPORT ASSIGNMENT 49 She said that (2020) is the time when the staff at Sacombank needs to have a big and really different mindset However, it must be accompanied by the common goal of restructuring the Bank sustainably in order to bring Sacombank's names closer to all different audiences and customer segments From that, it can be seen that the initial success of the post-merger banking restructuring process affirms that Nguyen Duc Thach Diem and the banking team are on the right path, raising the spirit of Sacombank people with a bright mind and source of energy overflows in each person with enthusiasm and firm belief, timely adapting to all changes but at the same time maintaining and developing a good and sustainable corporate cultural system 2.2.4.2 Recruiting and employing employees Since Ms Diem was appointed to the new position, the female CEO has implemented a series of solutions to improve the efficiency of human resource recruitment through new salary and bonus policies, and at the same time create a dynamic environment, promising for individuals who want to become a part of Sacombank She always insists that she uses employees from a bright mind, not because of a high position that ignores any employees' opinions On the contrary, she is willing to absorb and take immediate measures to overcome the problems presented by employees 2.2.4.3 About the issues of personnel leaving to be the leader At the Bank, employees quit their jobs for two reasons Firstly, the restructuring and redeployment of the Bank inevitably ended up with their jobs In this, she affirmed: "We will certainly be stronger, but of course there must be love and reason."
