I.Warm-up: (5 minutes)

- Gives students a clip and some pictures -Asks students to answers some questions: What can you see in the clip?

2 From the following pictures, Can you guess the topic of the lesson today?

-Lead in : today we are learn about world population

II Before you read : (10 minutes)

- Ask students work in pairs and look at the pictures on screen and discuss the questions - Goes around and help if necessary

-Ask students to give the answers

- Listen to students and correct pronunciation and grammar if necessary

- Give population statistics in 2015. - Gives some pictures and explains the meaning of some newwords

- Watch video clip

- Listen to the teacher and answer the questions

- Listen to the teacher and discuss to answer questions

- Work in pairs:

-Discuss and give correct answers Family A has better living condition than family B

Read the first paragraph and fill in the table What was the population of the world in 10,000 B.C., 1750, 1850, 1950, 1985 and 2000 ?

- Lets students work in groups

- Goes around and helps students if necessary

2 Task 2: (15 minutes) Game: Lucky singer

- Asks Ss work in group, choose the questions and answer it

- Which group has more correct answer will be the winner

1 How many people is the world expected to have by the year 2015?

2 Can the earth have enough resources to support its population?

- Listen to the teacher

- Write down in the notebook

- Listen and repeat - Read in front of class

- Remember the meaning of the newwords

- Read the passage - Listen to the teacher

- Try to answer the questions in the task

- Group work

- Read the text and find out the answers
