Lesson 1: Part 1, I Objectives Knowledge: - By the end of this lesson, students will be able to ask and answer about time * Vocabulary: time, get up, go to school, have breakfast, have lunch, have dinner * Structure: What time is it? It’s Skills: - Practice listening and speaking skills Attitude: Educate Ss to be friendly with friends II Teaching- aids - Student’s book, cassette, CD, pictures III Methods: - Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work, group work IV Procedure: A Organization: ( 1’) - Who’s absent today? Class Date of teaching Absent Ss 4A, 4C 21/01/2019 4B 22/01/2019 B Warm up (4’) - To prepare pupils for this lesson, play a game with them using the numbers five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five, forty, forty-five, fifty and fifty-five Teacher says five, then choose a pupil to say the next number (i.e Ten) That pupil then chooses another pupil say the next number - T-Whole class C New lesson: Teacher and Ss’ activitives Contents *Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat (10’) - T asks Ss to open their book on page and look at the picture - Get pupils to read the title of the unit and elicit their answers such as: Who are they? – They are Mom and Phong Look, listen and repeat (2) ? What are they talking about? - Ss listen and answer - Praise pupils if they give a correct answer Then ask pupils to discuss what is happening in each picture - T tells Ss that they are going to look at the dialogue, listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue - T plays the recording through for Ss to listen to the dialogue - Ss: listen and point - T plays the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat - Ss: listen and read in chorus( times) - T - Ss role play - T-Ss, Ss- T, half- half, open pairs - T checks to make sure Ss can repeat and understand the dialogue *Activity 2: Point and say (10’) - T introduce some words by eliciting - time (translation) - get up (picture) - go to school (picture) - have breakfast (picture) - have lunch (picture) - have dinner (picture) - T models - Ss: listen and repeat (chorally then individually) - T writes down on the board - T: Vocabulary checking: Matching - T introduce stucture: * Set the sence: - T asks Ss to look at their book on page - Ss look - T tells Ss to identify the people in the picture How many people in this picture? What are their names? Class Date of teaching Absent Ss 4A, 4C 24/01/2019 4B 25/01/2019 B Warm up (4’) * Activity: Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by asking some pupils to go to the front of the class and talk about the daily routines C New lesson: Teacher and Ss’ activitives Contents *Activity 4: Listen and draw the time (10’) Listen and draw the time - T asks students to open the book on page - Ss open the book - Get pupils to read the title of the unit - Ss read - Have Ss look at pictures a, b, c,d and e and identify the colour and school thing *Set the scene: you are going to listen to the recording about situations and write the number correct pictures - 1st:Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are looking the pictures (10) in their books - 2nd: play the recording for Ss to listen and number the correct pictures - Choose one or two Ss to share their answers with their classmates *Answer key: - 3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their b – 7.30; c – 8.15; answers d – 8.00; e – 9.00 - Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction - Comment and give feedback *Activity 5: Draw and write the time (10’) Draw and write the time - T asks Ss to open their book on page - How many clock are there? - Run throught the picture - Tell how to the task - Give a question and example - Check Ss’s understanding - ask Ss to look at the pictures, draw and write the time the sentences individually - Call Ss to say the answers and check the answers - Call some pairs to read aloud and correct pronunciation - Check understandthe content of the text Guess what they say? *Activity 6: Let’s play ( 7’) - We are going to play the game Pass the Let’s play secret! Follow the procedures in Games in Introduction - Divide the lass into groups of six or seven Ask pupils to sit in circles Pupil in each circle whispers a sentence to Pupil 2, e.g I get up at six o’clock Then Pupil whispers the same sentence to Pupil Continue until the last pupil has heard the sentence and said it aloud The group that says the sentence correctly in the shortest time will win the game - Call on one group to act out the game in front of the class V Summary (2’) - Students answer some questions about lesson such as: What objective did you learn from lesson?
