students of a new generation, not except for our university - University of Social sciences and Humanities (USSH), they warmly welcomed freshmen with many activities, especially this festival, named ''Be a family'' ''Be a family'' was prepared carefully by seniors from every faculty Many weeks before, ideas were beginning to take shape, everyone started to make preparations for it A great number of seniors practiced for performances diligently every day, every place on our campus What they did expresses the enthusiast, activeness of USSH students and the love they give for new students Besides, freshmen also attended preparatory activities to make the festival be more perfect Furthermore, advertising for it was also speeding up Every day, lots of interesting articles and pictures about the coming program were posted on the social network like Facebook, Zalo, Instagram,… Especially, there was a countdown panel standing in front of multipurpose gymnasium The atmosphere around school was so excited when the countdown panel marked that there was just one day left, everything was completed and all of students were ready to participate in this outstanding event This festival took place on September 30th, 2017 During this festival, organizers had many interesting activities and games for the first-year undergraduates It officially began with the opening ceremony and the running road named “Turning to USSH”.Our first challenge was that we had to run though a stretch of road where many seniors sprinkled color flour Although it was dirtily adhesive on their hair, their clothes, they didn’t care and continued to join the flow of people Next, all new students had to jump over the pole to the destination, their faces showed radiant joy and laughter Continuing the event series of that day was the exhibition named “What our house has” It started with a liveshow where all the teams performed their prepared repertoire to greet These vibrant and attractive performance made the air of the hall hotter gradually Besides, the air suddenly became animated and thrillin with the Golden Bell contest At this contest, all joining contestants had to answer the knowledge questions about the history as well as the formation process of USSH Overcome many obstacles, finally we found the champion, a student come from EF After many activities occurred in the morning, freshmen had some breaks to blow of some stream The seniors didn’t forget preparing food and drink section with interesting food stalls for new students Moreover, an indispensable part of the festival was the appearance of collective games in order to connect all freshmen and express the USSH youth spirit At that time, the gymnasium was really hot with heads tug game required a lot of strength such as tug of war, baggy jump The surrounding atmosphere was covered with the encouraging enthusiastic shouts of all the supporters in the gymnasium After crossing many obstacles and efforts, in the end, most excellent teams won the championships together The most special and impressive part in each member of USSH Home might be gala show welcomes freshmen in the evening Mostly, one of the most important events was the torch relay Mr Le Huu Phuoc – vice principal of the school gave traditional flame which represents for passion, enthusiasm of youth and their belief in the success of the new generation to new students’ representatives After the glorious and brilliant torch relay was musical performances The show included three best performaces during the night of the freshman song festival.The melody of the sacred vice along with many enthusiastic cheer, who made the air be hotter than ever Through these performances, organizers express to all new students a message that “No matter where we are, now we are at home and will be a big family forever” Especially,the festival also had the participation of Bui Anh Tuan Everyone was excited to meet one of the most famous singers and to hear him sing live Finally, the organizers awarded many prizes to the musical performance after that closing ceremony After attending this festival, each student has different memorable things and a lot of special feeling Mr Nguyen Truong Tho, the monitor of class 17A, he was shouted to encourage all activities and performances but still very excited and he said that:” After these activities, I felt over-joy Because they were so meaningful, throughout them, I can make more friends, get experience I'm proud to be EFer” Throughout this festival, freshmen had participated in so many activities, some people feel a bit tired but they’re still very cheerful and happy Ms Thu Hien, one of the freshmen, said that day was one of the most memorable ones of hers, it was a good opportunity to the first-year undergraduates know more about each other, which make them close-knit gradually Not only freshmen but also the other undergraduates feel happy, joyful and so delighted in this festival, Mr Dang Xuan Huy said: “After attending festival for freshmen in my university, I feel that this year's festival is extremely amazing which I could not experience in my first year There are a great number of interesting activities attracting a lot of students from first year to final year From my point of view, I appreciate these activities because they help students break the ice and have memorable moments I love this year's festival very much” In conclusion, this festival has brought lots of special and memorable feeling to the USSH’s students, which is an excellent starting-point to welcome the new academic year Although, this festival just occurred on one day but it left many special things for all freshmen of our University These activities not only made them funny, happy but also helped them feel more and more comfortable in the new environment and be ready to overcome many challenges, obstacles in the future All organizers hoped that after this event every freshman will have a significant first year and can get high results in studying Now let’s start a new school year
