Pre-practice: - Turns on the tape (part A1) , lets sts listen twice and asks sts to to repeat. - Writes the words (Hi/ Hello) on the board. - Notices sts to rise down at the end of the greeting. 3. Controlled-practice: - Asks sts to practice in pair, say “hi” and “hello” to their classmates. - Calls some pairs to practice in front of the class. 4. Free-practice: - Calls some sts to stand in front of the class, say “hi” or “hello” to their classmates and the whole class will reply the greeting. B. INTRODUCING NAME 1. Lead - in - Asks sts what they say when they meet each other at this new school year. - Asks sts to listen to the friends on the tape introducing their name. - Asks sts to play in the role of Lan, Ba, Nam, Nga and repeat what they’ve just listened to. 2. Lead-in: - Sets the situation. + Asks the sts what they say when they meet each other on the way to go to school. - Says: “Today we’ll practice asking and answering about health and saying thanks.” 2. Pre -practice: - Draws two faces (a boy and a girl) on the board. - Asks the sts some questions to lead them to the conversation. Questions: a) Who is he in our class? b) Who is she in our class? c) What does Nam say to greet Dung? d) What does Dung say to greet Nam? e) What will they speak after that? - Writes the completed conversation on the board. - Teaches new words. Pre-practice: - Asks the sts to look at the pictures in the textbook, listen and repeat. - Teaches new words by using situations in the pictures and the time shown on the clock. New words a. Controlled-practice: - Asks the sts to look at the picture in the textbook and guess the meaning of “children”. - Asks the sts to listen to the dialogue on the tape and practice in pair work. - Calls some pairs to practice in front of the class. 4.
