heat Heat is supplied to moist materials by conduction, convection, radiation or by high frequency electric field energy The purpose of the drying process is to reduce the weight of the material, increase the surface bond and preserve it better 1.2 Classification of drying equipment • Based on the drying agent: we have sublimation drying, infrared ray drying or electric current drying.high frequency • Based on working pressure: vacuum drying equipment, normal pressure drying equipment • Based on equipment structure: conveyor drying, shaft drying, rotating drum drying, spray drying 1.3 Drying application • The main application of drying equipment is drying or hardening of materials such as wood, food, chemicals, clothing, powder products, and many other materials Drying equipment comes in many different types, suitable for diverse applications and used in many different industries CHAPTER : SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY AND FOREGIN 2.1 Situation in the country • According to derwent innovation data, vietnam has only recorded the publication of patent applications in the field of agricultural drying technology since 2010, and from then until november 2021, there were a total of 96 patent applications in the field of agricultural drying technology this area was published and peaked from 2019 to 2020 Trend of publishing patent applications in the field of agricultural drying technology in Vietnam 2.2 Situation in the foreign Through analyzing data on the patent registration situation related to agricultural drying technology in the world from 2001 to 2020, it can be divided into periods: • Period 2001 - 2018: the number of published patent applications tends to increase over time • Period 2018 - 2020: the number of published patent applications tends to decrease Trend of publishing patent applications in the field of agricultural drying technology in foreign CHAPTER : DEFINITION, CLASSIFICATION, STRUCTURE OF CONVEYOR DRYERS 3.1 The history of conveyor belt systems • Conveyor systems have been in use since the early 19th century One of the earliest examples was the very primitive steam –powered • Conveyor system used by the British Navy to transport specially aged biscuits longevity from the bakery to the storage and packaging areas • This technology was significantly improved in the late 19th century thanks to an American inventor and manufacturer named Thomas Robins robins invented a new conveyor belt system designed to transport coal and ore for thomas edison’s ore-milling company his invention was so successful that it won the grand prize at the paris exposition world fair in 1900 eventually robins started his own companies off the back of his invention, firstly the robins conveying belt company and later the robins new conveyor company 3.2 Technology improvement • In 1905 , when irish engineer Richard Sutcliffe created the first conveyor system to be used underground, specifically in coal mines.In the process, the tipperary-born inventor completely transformed the mining industry • As well as revolutionising the way coal was transported by massively reducing the required amount of physical labour, sutcliffe also invented the world’s first coal-cutting machine.later , he pioneered the production of conveyor belts used in industial assembly lines • This huge technological advancement in industrial mass production will inspire many other companies around the world as a result, the conveyor system truly became a mainstream manufacturing tool in industry, ultimately leading to modern companies producing the likes of berges speed belts, ave conveyor chains and the continental variflex belts CHAPTER : DEFINITION, CLASSIFICATION, STRUCTURE OF CONVEYOR DRYERS 3.3 Definition Conveyor dryers belt is an important equipment widely used in the food, agricultural products, and agricultural production industries.The newly improved conveyor dryers, with outstandingly advanced technology, meets the requirements of high temperature drying while still ensuring durability for the conveyor belt, good and stable operation in harsh environments 3.4 Classification conveyor dryers 1-Storey conveyor TECHNICAL PARAMETERS OF CONVEYOR DRYERS 4.1 Operating principle of conveyor dryers • Materials to be dried are distributed on the conveyor surface using specialized feeding equipment.=>The heating conveyor belt is activated and hot air is blown onto the material from top to bottom in the drying chamber => Help create uniform heating for all dried ingredients => Hot wind helps raise heat quickly so that all materials on the conveyor belt are exposed to high temperatures • The drying process depends on the input materials The drying chamber is designed to be closed so no heat is lost to thr outside => speeding up the drying process and increasing efficiency • 4.1 Operating principle of screw conveyor dryers The gravity of the material and the friction between the material and the machine wall cause the material to move forward along the bottom of the conveyor belt under the thrust of the blade as the screw rotates • The material movement at the middle bearing is pushed by the materials moving from behind, because the nut cannot rotate reciprocatingly along the screw shaft The screw blade pushes the material to realize material distribution • The material will not rotate together in the screw because the gravity of the material and the friction between the material and the shell are both large The surface type of the screw blade depends on the material to be transported, it can be: entity type, belt type and leaf surface type • The conveyor screw has a thrust bearing at the end that directs the material to move to create force against the screw along with the material, and when it becomes longer, a middle suspension bearing is needed to hold the screw • The screw is supported by two end bearings and an intermediate bearing The U-shaped chute has a cover with an opening for conveyor belt loading, where a discharge opening is provided at the bottom of the chute, the fill and discharge points can be located anywhere longitudinally in the chute 4.2 Applications of conveyor dryers • Drying conveyors are mainly used in industries such as drying food, agricultural products, and chemical industry used in factories producing electronic components, car and motorbike components, speakers, horns and other materials with many special outstanding feature that other types cannot Applications of screw conveyor : • In agriculture : screw conveyors are used to assist in transporting grain and animal feed • The construction industry uses industrial screw conveyors to mix wet and dry ingredients to produce plaster or cement Applications of multi-storey conveyor : • Multi-layer conveyor machine applied in specialized practice products, agricultural products, herbal medicines, materials north 4.3 Technical parameters of conveyor dryers
