Medical Director & Faculty - Michigan Poison & Drug Information Center Department of Emergency Medicine Wayne State University School of Medicine Department of Emergency Medicine and the Michigan Poison & Drug Information Center are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team in the position of Medical Director of the Michigan Poison & Drug Information Center (MiPDC) This position is responsible for providing medical oversight of the MiPDC’s daily operation and ensures the medical direction given to the public or health care providers is correct and within the existing national standards or expert consensus The Medical Director must maintain regulatory compliance of the MiPDC with local, state, and federal governing bodies and maintain national accreditation The Medical Director is also intimately involved in education with the toxicology rotation, the Medical Toxicology fellowship, and Poison Information personnel, and provision of out- and inpatient toxicology evaluation and treatment through the Toxicology service Qualified candidates should have a proven track record demonstrating commitment to education, leadership, and scholarship The candidate must have a degree in medicine (allopathic or osteopathic) with residency in a primary Board-Certified field and fellowship in Medical Toxicology Poison Center experience is preferred, but not required Must obtain a registered Michigan license and controlled substance license in the State of Michigan within three months of entry into the job Applicants must be certified by the American College of Medical Toxicology and the American College of Emergency Physicians or equivalent Compensation and benefits are highly competitive Wayne State University is a premier, public, urban research university located in the heart of Detroit where students from all backgrounds are offered a rich, high-quality education Our deep-rooted commitment to excellence, collaboration, integrity, diversity, and inclusion creates exceptional educational opportunities preparing students for success in a diverse, global society WSU encourages applications from women, people of color, and other underrepresented people WSU is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer Interested applicants must apply online to job posting #045793 at: https://jobs.wayne.edu/ and will be required to upload an academic CV If you are interested in joining our team of enthusiastic and dedicated staff, please contact Andrew King, MD, Interim Medical Director of MiPDC and Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at amking@med.wayne.edu or 847-691-8078 550 E Canfield, Lande 354 Detroit, MI 48201 800-222-1222/313-486-0078 Admin: 313-887-0287, Fax: 313-577-6917
