The Roanoke Ventures and The Raleigh Conspiracy The Lost Colony Center for science and Research is happy to announce that a new and exciting project is underway New research is rewriting the known sixteenth-century history of the famed lost Colony of 1587 The Lost Colony Center for Science and Research had a humble beginning in 1992, with the discovery of the Croatan site in Buxton, North Carolina With this discovery came a very important partnership with Dr David Phelps, the director of archaeology at East Carolina University and the formation of the “Croatan Group” Many collaborations were formed and some significant research was accomplished From some twenty people helping with the research three important collaborations developed Philip McMullan, Charles “Sweet Medicine” Shepherd and Fred Willard have now been working together for almost a dozen years and have made many new discoveries together, most of which have been chronicled as research papers and can all be found on this website (www.Lost-Colony.com) Charles Shepherd is a Mattamuskeet/Croatan Indian who is responsible for very important research on the early Indian migrations in coastal North Carolina Phil McMullan has worked closely with the Lost Colony Center developing research about the Dare County mainland, and his master thesis is a compilation of the work done by Charles Shepherd, Fred Willard and himself about Beechland A new book is now being written co-authored by Phil McMullan and Fred Willard about this area that is fifty miles west of the original settlement of the Lost Colony on Roanoke Island The main theme concerns a concerted effort by Sir Walter Raleigh and his investors to suppress information about a secret commodity found in 1585, and dozens of attempts (now recently found) to hide and cover up the discovery Please read Phil’s master thesis linked below and also the paper entitled “Raleigh’s 1587 Colony: Conspiracy, Spies, Secrets and Lies”
