PARTNERSHIP DESCRIPTION What is “A Conversation on Energy?” Throughout 2007, ConocoPhillips is hosting a series of town hall meetings across the country to share ideas on America’s energy future with organizations and private citizens who want to stay informed and participate in this important discussion Why does ConocoPhillips want partners for the event? ConocoPhillips believes that for too long, the discussion about national energy issues and challenges has occurred in the same, limited number of places To secure our energy future, more organizations need to become involved from all over the country, including organizations like yours Why are you asking my organization to consider being a partner? ConocoPhillips is looking for partner organizations that have a point of view on energy and want to engage in meaningful, constructive dialogue The company is seeking viewpoints on a wide range of issues, including energy production and consumption, energy efficiency, alternative fuels and energy sources, and environmental stewardship Your organization was identified as a potential partner because it meets these qualifications What are the expectations of a partner organization for this event? The primary role of a partner organization is to encourage its members to attend and to participate in the meeting, which will be a panel discussion featuring other community members Your organization’s members will also be able to register and receive e-mail updates and energy industry alerts to remain involved and informed as they participate in the discussion about America’s energy future Being a partner organization of the event does NOT mean that your organization endorses the positions of ConocoPhillips or the ideas discussed during community meetings In fact, the company prefers to have a variety of views represented at the community meetings What are the benefits of being a partner organization for this event? The main benefit to your members is gaining the opportunity to help shape the discussion on America’s energy future The community meeting will give your organization the opportunity to explain and educate community members and ConocoPhillips about your positions — and to hear the ideas of others Partner organizations will be recognized at the community meetings and, where possible, their members will receive invitations to a pre-event reception with the event’s moderator and panelists as well as preferred seating at the event Is there a cost associated with being a partner organization?
